Personal email automation
Hermes Gmail
An account-owner-controlled integration that audits Gmail labels and archives eligible messages using Hermes Agent.
What the app does
Hermes Gmail runs on its owner's computer. Its scheduled audit reads relevant message metadata and content, checks the label hierarchy, proposes or applies evidence-backed label corrections, and archives individual read, unstarred Inbox messages according to the owner's instructions.
The current audit is configured not to delete email or labels, empty Trash, mark unread messages as read, change stars, or send mail. Ambiguous cases are left unchanged and reported for review.
Why Gmail permission is requested
Google's Gmail read-and-update permission is needed to inspect messages, modify labels, and remove the Inbox label when archiving eligible messages. The requested permission can support additional mailbox actions, but the configured audit uses it for reading, labeling, and archiving.
Requested scope: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.modify
Personal use, not public signup
This integration is operated by Joseph Follett for personal use. This website explains the app; it does not provide a public email service, collect Google credentials, or grant access to a mailbox. Authorization happens on Google's own consent screen through the locally running app.
Privacy and control
Relevant email content may be sent to the owner's configured AI provider to perform the audit. OAuth credentials and local audit reports are stored in the owner's Hermes application files, not on this informational website.
Read the Privacy Policy for data access, use, storage, sharing, retention, and revocation details, and the Terms of Use for the personal-use scope.
